Ōbori Soma-Yaki is an over 400-year-old pottery style from Fukushima, Japan, famous for its distinctive cracked glaze. After the Tsunami in 2011 the artisans moved away from Fukushima and started anew, to keep this special pottery style alive. The jade green finish gives the cup a very unique and smooth look. These handmade cups are very limited and may not come back in stock once they are sold out.
The Asemi cups perfectly embody the art of Japanese craftsmanship. All cups are handmade and glazed in Japan. Using a variety of techniques and materials, each cup is one of a kind. Since the first time we used an Asemi cup, they have become an essential part of our daily coffee or tea routine. The two different sizes cover all drinks, from filter coffee to espresso and tea.
